The care that Lloydminster’s residents have for one another was made clear during the stressful days of the pandemic. When Lloydminster’s Holy Rosary High School band didn’t have anywhere to practice due to restrictions on indoor gatherings, a local company stepped in to help. Not wanting the children to miss out on their musical development, classrooms were set up outside and children were bussed in to participate in band classes. The outdoor covered area allowed the full band to practice in comfort while still adhering to pandemic protocols.

The past few years have been especially challenging for the residents of Lloydminster. From the pandemic to the downturns in the oil industry, one of the main industries in the area, the community has had its fair share of struggles. But their spirit and determination to help each other has not diminished. In fact, it may even have grown.

Winning SiriusXM Music Town would give this friendly and altruistic community, which rarely has the opportunity to host touring bands, an opportunity for happiness and celebration for the residents who continue to help each other through any challenge that comes their way.
