Nanaimo

British Columbia

Like the dessert bar after which it was named, Nanaimo offers much joy and sweetness to its residents, who enjoy a wonderful environment in which to live, work, and play.

Known as the Harbour City, Nanaimo lies on the east coast of Vancouver Island in British Columbia and offers an abundance of recreation and cultural opportunities. The highly popular and much-loved Canadian treat – the Nanaimo bar – was named after this island city.

One new resident who nominated this town was amazed at how helpful and supportive the community is, no matter the situation – it’s like one big family.

Nanaimo is a ferry port, connecting Vancouver Island to the rest of the province. As such, rarely attracts touring bands who often only stop to play in Vancouver, the mainland’s largest city. But the city has a huge love of live music and a vibrant local music scene. This sweet town would love to welcome a SiriusXM Music Town concert to its shore.
